An advance copy of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' report to the Security Council, obtained by AP, says worldwide medical staff and others in Bangladesh have documented that numerous nearly 700,000 Rohingya Muslims who fled from Myanmar "bear the physical and psychological scars of brutal sexual assault".

"The five members of a family. came back to Taungpyoletwei town repatriation camp in Rakhine state this morning", said a statement posted to the Facebook page of the government's information committee.

The family had been sent to stay "temporarily" with relatives in Maungdaw town after "finishing the repatriation process", the statement added.

After the move, Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said such an announcement was nothing but a farce, while rights activists and experts said the one-sided step by Myanmar is an eyewash and a public relations stunt.

The Rohingya Muslims are reviled by many in the Buddhist-majority country, where they are branded as illegal "Bangali" immigrants from Bangladesh, despite their long roots in Rakhine state.

"How can they claim it to be repatriation since the Rohingya family was not taken back from the camps within Bangladesh".

The United States and UN have described the Myanmar military operation as ethnic cleansing.

" "I hope Myanmar will take all the Rohingya families back within the shortest possible time", he said".

"Before proceeding with the repatriation of Rohingya, the Myanmar government must recognize and guarantee all their fundamental human rights", he said.

Bangladesh has given Myanmar a list of more than 8,000 refugees to begin the repatriations, but there have been delays due to a complicated verification process.

About 700,000 Rohingya Muslims flooded into neighbouring Bangladesh to escape the violence.

What you post on the Internet is forever - even for the guy who harbors much of the world's personal information. Investigative reporter Julia Angwin says that Facebook is not the only company that collects data in this way.

Repeat concerns have been raised by rights groups about repatriating the thousands who fled before their safety can be guaranteed. Hundreds of Rohingya were reportedly killed in the recent violence, and many houses and villages burned to the ground.

Since then, over 700,000 others have crossed into Bangladesh fearing for their lives, joining more than 400,000 others who were already living in cramped makeshift camps in Cox's Bazar.

Myanmar has repeatedly said it is ready for repatriation, but no date has been given for the return, and scepticism is rife in Bangladesh and elsewhere that a stalled refugee return plan will ever be implemented.

Rahim said the group became angry when Win Myat Aye said the Rohingya refugees must accept national verification cards to be provided by Myanmar in which they state they are migrants from Bangladesh.

Bill Frelick, director of Human Rights Watch's (HRW) refugee rights programme, also recently called Myanmar's plan "wishful thinking".

The move came despite repeated warnings from the United Nations and other rights groups that a mass repatriation of Rohingya would be premature, as Myanmar has yet to address the systematic legal discrimination and persecution the minority has faced for decades.

"We can overcome many difficulties we are facing", he told reporters after a meeting with Bangladeshi officials.

Asif Munier said Myanmar has time and again blamed Bangladesh when the latter is bearing the brunt of the Rohingya crisis, something the country is in no way responsible for.

On Friday, UNHCR said that the "conditions in Myanmar are not yet conducive for returns to be safe, dignified and sustainable", adding that "the responsibility for creating such conditions remains with the Myanmar authorities, and these must go beyond the preparation of physical infrastructure to facilitate logistical arrangements".
