Trump whines ABC never called him to apologize after they fired Roseanne

Wanda Sykes Quits 'Roseanne' Reboot, Show Cancelled Following Star's Racist Twitter Post

Less than 24 hours after one of President Donald Trump's favorite ABC shows was canceled, the President offered his two-cents on the "Roseanne" racism scandal via Twitter on Wednesday. "Gee, he never called President Donald J. Trump to apologize for the terrible statements made and said about me on ABC". Barr described Valerie Jarrett (an advisor to the Obama administration) as a combination of the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes.

"He wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show", Jarrett said in an interview on MSNBC. In particular, she said 36-year-old Fishman - who played the Conners' son D.J.in the original series and revival, and shared a lengthy statement on Twitter expressing his "vehement" condemnation of Barr's words - threw her "under the bus". Although she has since apologized and deleted the tweet, the damage was already done.

Following the backlash she faced, Barr returned to Twitter Tuesday night to apologize, claiming that she "went too far" and that her statements were "egregious [and] indefensible".

She added, "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans". Barr also made another apology late Tuesday.

Trump's tweet was the first time the president mentioned the cancellation.

Sanofi, the maker of Ambien, tweeted that "racism isn't a known side effect" of Ambien.

Harvey Weinstein turned himself in holding books -- what do they mean?
Revelations in The New York Times and The New Yorker in the fall spurred official inquiries in New York , Los Angeles and London. The books he was holding appeared to be: Something Wonderful: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway Revolution, by Todd S.

Jamilah Lemieux said ABC didn't exactly have much of a choice here in how to respond, though it does beg the question: "Who exactly were you going after when you made a decision to give this person a platform now?" Roseanne also accused billionaire George Soros, who's Jewish, of being a Nazi collaborator and attacked Chelsea Clinton.

Barr also continued to tweet about George Soros, a liberal donor who has been painted as the villain in many right-wing conspiracy theories.

- What will ABC schedule Tuesdays at 8 p.m. this fall in place of "Roseanne?".

More than 18 million people on average have watched the reboot of "Roseanne" this season, according to Nielsen Co.

But cancelling "Roseanne" is "like taking off "All in the Family" or "I Love Lucy" or Andy Griffith at their zenith", he said.
