2nd Accuser Comes Forward Against Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax

New allegations from a woman named Meredith Watson, who claims Fairfax raped her in 2000 while the two were students at Duke University, prompted Democratic Virginia House of Delegates Member Patrick Hope to announce he plans to introduce articles of impeachment for Fairfax unless the Democratic lieutenant governor resigns by Monday.

Mr Fairfax has insisted his encounter with Prof Tyson was "100% consensual". He called the latest allegation "demonstrably false", and vowed he would not step down. McAuliffe wrote, "The allegations against Justin Fairfax are serious and credible".

Herring, the third-ranking elected official in Virginia, apologised for wearing blackface as a 19-year-old at a college party and said "the shame of that moment has haunted me for decades".

The panel discussed how Northam has thus far shown no signs he will leave Richmond, despite overwhelming criticism from the state's top Democrats - Sens.

Herring said he had donned blackface to imitate groundbreaking 1980s rapper Kurtis Blow, who weighed in on the matter on Friday.

But Tyson said in her statement that she "cannot believe" Fairfax would think the sexual act was consensual.
