Indian high commissioner to Pakistan returns to Islamabad

Under the state’s watch

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said Bisaria will be returning to Islamabad as he has completed his consultations in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, White House bureau chief Steve Herman tweeted on Saturday: " US issues Level 2 travel alert for India - "exercise increased caution", warning Americans to not visit most of Jammu and Kashmir due to "terrorism and civil unrest" and not go within 10 km of the border with Pakistan 'due to the potential for armed conflict'".

Tensions between India and Pakistan dramatically escalated after a Pakistan-based terrorist group affiliated with al-Qaeda* carried out a deadly vehicle bomb attack against Indian military forces in Kashmir, killing at least 40 troops, with India blaming Islamabad for inability to take action against Jaish-e-Mohammad that claimed responsibility for the bombing.

At least 40 paramilitary soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed attacked their convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on February 14.

He said that India's non-military counterterrorism strike conducted on February 26 achieved the intended objective and has demonstrated our firm resolve to take decisive action against cross-border terrorism.

He said Pakistan should take concrete steps "against terrorists and terror infrastructure" on its territory. The JeM had taken the responsibility of the attack in the view of which tensions between India and Pakistan flared up.

"The widespread presence of terrorist camps in Pakistan is public knowledge within and outside Pakistan". It also says shut a number of facilities and frozen assets of several outlawed organizations.

The dossier was handed over to Pakistan after Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the nation had offered Indian government to hold dialogue.

New Delhi's retaliatory strike in the northwest Pakistani town of Balakot last month sent tensions spiraling.

He said these decisions were taken at a meeting of the general council on FATF, led by Pakistan's Finance Secretary Arif Ahmed Khan, as part of a series of meetings to comply with the FATF obligations.

In the aerial combat, India had lost the MiG-21 Bison aircraft and its pilot Wing Commander Varthaman was captured by Pakistan.
